Dr. Dog Sign With Anti- For Fateful Followup

Philly rockers Dr. Dog have hitched their pony to Anti- Records, home to such iconic artists as Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Mavis Staples, and Ramblin’ Jack Elliott. The band will soon begin work on their next LP, the followup to last years’ philosophical concept album, Fate. Look for that in 2010.

“Each album we’ve made was the best one we could have made at the time and I don’t have any regrets,” says guitarist-vocalist Scott McMicken. “But something has changed. We’ve never really recorded as a band before. We started as a recording project but over the years we’ve become a real band. We tour all the time and we have this certain place we fall into. And I think we’re ready to use that as a reference point now.”

It all gives us an excuse to re-post our favorite, guerilla-made Dr. Dog video (below), a very groovy piece of street theater.

Go see the good Doctors on tour this summer and fall with crazed comic book artist and singer-songwriter, Jeffrey Lewis.
