“Everything I Hoped”: Carly Pearce Checks off “Bucket List Moment” at the Grand Ole Opry Thanks to Alison Krauss

Carly Pearce got her big break with 2017’s “Every Little Thing.” Reaching the top of the Billboard country chart, the song helped Pearce broker a contract with Big Machine Records. In the eight years since, the Kentucky native, 34, has collected four ACM Awards, three CMA trophies, and even a Grammy. Throughout her time in the spotlight, Pearce has remained a fierce champion for her fellow ladies in country music. And the “Truck on Fire” songstress recently had the opportunity to meet one of her heroes.

Carly Pearce “Fangirled So Hard”

On Wednesday (March 19), Nashville’s past rubbed elbows with its present as the Grand Ole Opry celebrated a century of country music. Carly Pearce paid tribute to the iconic Dolly Parton with a rendition of the latter’s signature 1973 song, “Jolene.”

In addition to honoring one of her heroes, Pearce also got to come face-to-face with another. Bluegrass-country legend Alison Krauss performed her 2001 hit “Let Me Touch You for Awhile” with her band, Union Station, before joining Brad Paisley onstage for a heartbreaking performance of their song “Whiskey Lullaby.”

Sharing a picture of herself standing beside the “When You Say Nothing at All” singer, Pearce wrote on social media, “if you know me, you know meeting this woman was a bucket list moment. my dad bought tickets for my 16th birthday to see her live, I know every word to every record & when I drink a little wine.. i play every lick of every instrument on her live album 😂❤️ i fangirled so hard to my absolute favorite artist last night & she was everything i hoped she’d be.”

New Music Is “Flowing” Out Of Her

Last week, Carly Pearce released hummingbird: no rain, no flowers, the deluxe version of last year’s highly acclaimed hummingbird.

Pearce’s fourth studio album came three years after 29, the seven-track EP that saw the “Next Girl” singer dissecting heartbreak following her split from country singer Michael Ray. Hummingbird was truly a labor of love, as Pearce admits it took “a lot of time to come back to music” following 29.

Now the creative juices are flowing again, and Pearce tells People that we may see results sooner than we think. “I feel really inspired and excited about creating new music. So you’re going to get this music way faster, I’m thinking probably by the end of the year,” she said.
