Who’s That?: Nashville roots artists who’ve earned the love of their hometown, and NPR.

The Song: The band’s latest single, “Fly On.” In the video, a grown up couple demonstrate what true love looks like.

Sounds like: The Avett Brothers minus the anxiety; Mumford & Sons + drums.

Fun Fact: You can currently download Humming House’s debut album for free.

Author’s Notes: “As a songwriter, penning a meaningful love song is one of the tallest and most vulnerable tasks on the planet,”notes frontman Justin Wade Tam. “The narrative of ‘Fly On’ was born out of the idea of viewing a successful relationship in retrospect. I wanted to tell the story of a bond and love that has stood the test of seasons and storms, one that will indeed continue to ‘fly on; through all of the ups and downs. This song and video are the sum of that very idea: appreciating/valuing the context of the past and thus using it to continue pressing on into a positive future together.”
