While usually airing on Sunday, American Idol kicked off two episodes a week on March 30th. And for the next month, the schedule appeared the same. But for tonight, yes, there is a new episode that will feature the singers heading into the Showstopper Round. Although the pressure continued to mount with each passing episode, the contestants received a great deal of feedback from the judges. And if that wasn’t enough, tonight’s episode will feature rising country star Jelly Roll.

Why Jelly Roll Loves Being A Part Of ‘American Idol’
Known for giving some of the best advice, Jelly Roll jumped at the chance to become the first artist in residence. Speaking to Billboard about what fans should expect during the new episode, he said, “Hollywood Week is even more chaotic than what you see on TV. The episodes are pretty chaotic, but the camera can’t catch all of the chaos.”
Although seeing the stress get to the contestants, Jelly Roll insisted it was just a taste of the real music industry. “I love it because it reminds me of the music business. It’s real. They’re not hazing these kids. This is stuff that happens in our business all the time. I can’t wait for the world to see this – the show brings me in when the kids are picking their head-to-head songs, so I am in the trenches with these babies.”
Outside of becoming part of American Idol, Jelly Roll always loved watching the show and cheering on his favorite contestants. “I love Idol. I’ve been an Idol fan my whole life. Who doesn’t love watching a kid’s dream come true on national TV? That’s what we get to see.”
Don’t miss Jelly Roll on American Idol, airing Sunday and Monday at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and available to stream the following day on Hulu.
