Jelly Roll, Kane Brown Will Headline Nashville’s Big Bash This New Year’s Eve

So far, 2024 has been quite the year for country stars Jelly Roll and Kane Brown. Jelly (aka Jason DeFord) is preparing to drop the highly-anticipated follow-up to 2023’s Whitsitt Chapel, his universally beloved genre debut. Meanwhile, Brown recently celebrated his 11th No. 1 hit with “I Can Feel It.” When the clock strikes midnight on Dec. 31, both hitmakers will ring in 2025 with a bunch of Nashvillans. Both Jelly and Brown will headline this year’s New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash event.

Ring in the New Year With Jelly Roll and Kane Brown

CBS’ New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash announced Jelly Roll and Kane Brown as this year’s top performers on Thursday (Sept. 19.) The program is set to reveal more performers at a later date.

The event returns to downtown Nashville’s Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park this year for a five-hour broadcast, including back-to-back star performances across multiple time zones. The show will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+.

Can They Top Last Year’s Ratings?

This will mark the fourth year of CBS’ country-centric New Year’s Eve show. 2023 performers included Lainey Wilson, Thomas Rhett, and Lynyrd Skynyrd, with Elle King and Rachel Smith hosting.

Last year’s showing saw its ratings soar, with a 75 percent bump in viewership over the 2022 New Year’s Eve special. More people tuned in for Nashville’s Big Bash than for the CMA Awards, the CMT Music Awards, CMA Fest, or the People’s Choice Country Awards, Taste of Country reported. As a result, Nashville’s Big Bash became the highest-rated country music program of 2023.

If CBS is looking to outdo itself, it came to the right place. Few country stars are more “of the moment” than Jelly Roll and Kane Brown.

Jelly Roll will drop Beautifully Broken, the follow-up to 2023’s highly-acclaimed Whitsitt Chapel, on Oct. 11. With tracks like the scorching “Liar” and the cautiously hopeful “I Am Not Okay,” we’re betting on another smash success.

Meanwhile, Brown will receive the Country Champion Award at the upcoming 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards, set for next Thursday (Sept. 26.)
