July Country Music Festival Canceled Due to a “Number of Reasons”

With the summer hosting several country music festivals, Cold Spring, Minnesota, looked to bring a little country to the city with Firefest. Already promoting acts like Conner Smith, The Frontmen, Mitchell Tenpenny, and Meghan Patrick, fans shared their excitement about the upcoming festival. But sadly, organizers recently announced the cancellation of the festival for a “number of reasons.”

While not the first festival to announce it was canceled, Firefest was more than an event featuring country stars. The proceeds from the festival went to help the Cold Spring Fire and Rescue Department. Originally scheduled for July 26th, organizers didn’t share too many details as to why they needed to cancel the festival. Releasing a short statement, it suggested the decision came after a “number of reasons which were largely outside of our control.”

Again, the organizer remained somewhat silent on exactly what happened for them to have to cancel the country music festival. With fans already sharing their excitement for the event, the organizers added, “We are saddened for needing to make such a decision but believe it is in the best interest of the event.”

Firefest Thanks Fans For Their Ongoing Support

Although having to cancel the festival, the organizers shared their thanks to those who supported the event. “We want to extend a Thank You to all of our fans and supporters who have been a part of Firefest over the years. It’s been an incredible journey bringing talented country music artists to our stage and creating memorable performances. Your support has been instrumental in making Firefest a special community event and a vital fundraiser for the Cold Spring Fire & Rescue Department Relief Association.”

As for those fans who purchased tickets and even camping reservations, thankfully, they will receive a full refund. But like most canceled events, the refunds could take some time before showing up in their accounts.

Looking to the future, it’s unclear if the Firefest will continue. With organizers silent about the cancellation, many in the area are wondering if this marked the end of bringing country music to Cold Spring.
