Two country superstars are teaming up. In an interview with People, Kelsea Ballerini revealed that she and Maren Morris recently reconnected and wrote some songs together.

“Maren and I haven’t had the chance to catch up in years, and we’ve both had so much life that’s happened,” Ballerini said, perhaps alluding to divorces that both she and Morris went through.
Ballerini and Morgan Evans called it quits in 2022, while Morris and Ryan Hurd got divorced last year.
“We’ve recently just reconnected,” Ballerini said of herself and Morris. “I’ve always really looked up to her songwriting and her musicality, and we’ve never written together. So I was like, ‘Come on down to Charleston. Let’s write.’”
What followed, Ballerini said, was “three days of girl time.”
“Me, her, and Alysa [Vanderheym] [got together], and we wrote and we went to dinners,” Ballerini said. “It was not work. It was much more play than work.”
Fans had reason to suspect that the women had recently teamed up. Ballerini and Morris got fans speculating after they appeared in two TikToks together.
First, Morris shared a video of herself and Ballerini strutting side-by-side down a brick sidewalk. The same day, Ballerini posted a video of her and Morris enjoy drinks at a bar.
“We’re standing on business,” Ballerini captioned the clip.
Morris commented on the post, writing, “Were you bonesided or were you just boned?” The hilarious comment is a play on Ballerini’s song, “Blindsided,” and Morris’ track, “The Bones.”
Kelsea Ballerini and Maren Morris’ New Music
While fans eagerly wait to hear the music Ballerini and Morris dreamed up during their Charleston writing session, both singers have relatively new music for fans to enjoy.
In March, Ballerini released the deluxe edition of her latest album, Patterns. The release included five songs that didn’t make the 2024 album: “To the Men That Love Women After Heartbreak,” “Future Tripping,” “Put It to Bed,” “Cut Me Up,” and “Hindsight Is Happiness.”
As for Morris, her latest album, Dreamsicle, came out in May. Earlier this month, the singer kicked off a tour in support of the record. She’s set to play shows across North America, Europe, and Australia during the tour, before wrapping up the shows on Feb. 13 in New Zealand.
