North Carolina  songstress Shannon Whitworth has set sail with the release of her new video, “High Tide,” the title track of her upcoming album.

The folky-pop tune’s video is simple, set in an abandoned building in an unnamed location. Her swooning voice anchors the song, though its clear she’s steering toward new waters with this latest release. After years on the bluegrass scene as a banjoist for The Biscuit Burners, Whitworth has released two solo albums, with her third record, High Tide, set to debut on March 5 under Red Eye.

“I wrote ‘High Tide’ from a place of light and a place where all you want to do is get in the car and head to the water,” Witworth tells American Songwriter. “The song came together sonically with the help of Bill Reynolds (Band of Horses) and producer Seth Kauffman (Floating Action) with my band.”
