Do I need to be any good?
No. There's no audition and no skill bar. Opening Lines is built for every level, including people who have never finished a song. If you want to write, you're qualified.
What if I've never finished a song?
Then you're exactly who we built this for. You'll write in small, friendly sessions with a host and a couple of other writers, and you'll leave with finished songs, not just ideas.
Where is it, and how do I get there?
Wildwood Resort in Granville, TN, on Cordell Hull Lake, about 75 minutes east of Nashville. Drive in, carpool, or fly into Nashville — we'll coordinate rides from the airport at set times, with details closer to camp. Travel isn't included, but everything once you arrive is.
What's included?
Every writing room, masterclass, and session across the long weekend, every meal, your lodging, the nightly happy hour and songwriter circle, and all the on-site activities. The only things you bring are travel and, if you play one, your instrument.
What should I bring?
An instrument if you play one, something to write on, and an open mind. None of it is required. Everything you actually need to write is provided.
Do I need to bring a co-writer?
Not at all. Most people arrive solo and leave with a handful of new collaborators. Meeting your people is half the point.
Are there payment plans?
Yes. You can choose a payment plan at checkout, in every tier.
Is it really open to everyone?
Yes. No application, no screening, no submission. Pick your room, reserve your spot, and come write.
