Although few artists will ever be able to replicate the massive musical legacy of Ozzy Osbourne, his wife and daughter, Sharon and Kelly, were shocked to realize how similar one contemporary artist was to the original Prince of Darkness. For the young artist in question, the comparison is a dream-come-true affirmation of his most significant influences.

In fact, even Ozzy Osbourne himself could see the likeness.
The Contemporary Artist Most Similar To Ozzy Osbourne
Few artists, if any at all, will be able to match the musical legacy of Ozzy Osbourne exactly. But English singer-songwriter Dominic Richard Harrison, known by his stage name, Yungblud, might come close. The “Abyss” singer sat down with Sharon and Kelly Osbourne, the Prince of Darkness’ wife and daughter, respectively, for an episode of The Osbournes podcast in August 2024. Toward the end of the episode, the trio played a game called “Do You Know Your Rockstar?”
Kelly began posing questions to Yungblud and her mother, who was to provide Ozzy’s answers. The first rockstar ritual the performers had in common was their pre-show meal: pasta early in the afternoon for carbs and greater energy by showtime. The second surprising similarity was Yungblud and Ozzy’s love of war movies. “I can’t believe it,” Sharon said to her daughter, who looked equally surprised. “Ozzy’s the same.” That even surprised Yungblud, as he replied, “Really?!”
Some of Yungblud’s habits might have aligned with a younger version of Ozzy. His favorite thing to do in a new city, for example, is to find an Irish bar. Sharon said Ozzy’s favorite new city ritual is to “complain. He loves to complain.”
The Prince Of Darkness Sees The Likeness, Too
To be fair, pre-show rituals and film preferences don’t equate to being the same kind of artist. If anything, it just shows that Yungblud and Ozzy Osbourne could have gotten on incredibly well touring together, as they would never have to argue over their lunchtime meals or in-flight movie options. But even the Prince of Darkness has acknowledged his and Yungblud’s kindred spirits. The pair first worked together for Yungblud’s music video for “The Funeral,” in which Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne run over Yungblud with their car.
While on set, Yungblud spoke to the Black Sabbath frontman about the controversy he’s faced in his career. At the time, Yungblud had recently come under fire from the online community over spitting beer out onto his audience. “I was speaking to him about what happened on Twitter, and he said, ‘If you want to spit beer on the audience, do it, as long as you do it with love,’” Yungblud recalled in a 2022 NME cover story.
“People think [Ozzy] is kind of gone, but he’s not,” Yungblud continued. “He’s so intelligent and so f***ing beautiful. People are scared of him until they hear him speak. He said that he saw a lot of himself in me [and to] ‘Never apologize for anything. They will understand you later. Time always tells.’”
