Who’s That?: Vancouver canucks with a knack for hooks; their new album Animals drops in March.

The Song: “Fancy Pants”

What It Sounds Like: Dr. Dog meets Queen. Seriously.

Fun Fact: The song contains the familiar line “back beat, the word is on the street that the fire’s out,” and ends in laughter.

Author’s Notes: ‘Fancy Pants’ is a song about getting together, having fun and taking advantage of life,” says frontman Dan Moxon. “When we were recording, our guitar player Joseph would shimmy and dance at the start of the song, playing tambourine. We were having fun, the song is light and fun and we thought the title should be too hence calling it ‘Fancy Pants.’ We threw in an Oasis nod for a laugh as one can never take themselves too seriously.  That is, until Noel Gallagher sues us. But come to think of it, that could be kind of fun too.”
