Songwriter Says: “This song came together very quickly one afternoon in the fall of 2011. I was looking after my daughter who was about nine months old at the time, and writing whenever I could find pockets of time. I remember carrying her up the stairs in our little apartment, surely to change a diaper, and that vocal melody and chord structure hit me at the same time. I got her all fixed up, then we went into the little office space off the main bedroom. She sat in the floor and played or read while I committed a distorted, acoustic guitar version to my four-track cassette machine. The full band version naturally lifted the song in a big way, but also maintained some of that demo’s rawness.
