The Song: “Wait For Me Virginia”
Songwriter Says: Waiting has always fascinated me. Waiting on line for coffee, waiting in traffic, waiting do this and that, it seems like a lot of our time is spent waiting for the next thing to happen. I wanted to write a song with three different scenarios that all conclude with the same result, asking a loved one, named Virginia, to wait for them. The first verse is someone sentenced to jail, the second is being a performer on the road, the third is a soldier in the Middle East. They are all personal to me in different ways, and I think everyone knows someone in that situation, or has been in that situation themselves.
