After garnering serious fame overseas with Dutch/American folk outfit The Common Linnets, Nashville-based singer-songwriter Jake Etheridge is back stateside. His new song, “Summer Storms,” from his upcoming solo EP slated for a June 10 release, is an example of the South Carolinian’s earnest, experience-based songwriting.

“This song was left unfinished in the notebook for a long time,” says Etheridge. “I remember starting it in the middle of the night while fighting the jet lag in Holland. At the time I was pulling from memories, but I wanted also to write a narrative separate from my personal life. After finishing it the song seemed to grow into a very personal little thing.”
