The Song: “I Ain’t For You,” off her upcoming album Ease My Mind.
Songwriter Says: “Believe it or not this song was inspired by my grandmother. She’s always been a really strong, progressive woman full of fire and never afraid to speak her mind even when it shocks people. Her advice whenever one of us was hurt was, ‘Don’t get sad, get mad.’ I’m not sure if that’s the healthiest approach to life but that attitude was the inspiration behind this song. Getting somebody back who has done you wrong.”
