Marc Scibilia gets funky on his new EP, The Shape I’m In, a four-song record filled with strummed guitars, analog grooves, some Bruce Springsteen-worthy melodies and his own husky croon. Scibilia recorded most of the album at home, tracking the guitars in the kitchen and setting up his drummer’s equipment in the living room. The neighbors didn’t like it… but it was worth the risk.
“The songs on this EP are about the world I live in and a world I don’t,” Scibilia says. “Even though they are my honest experience about where I’ve been and where I’m going, I hope they will mean something personal to everyone who listens.”
Speaking of listening… here’s the full thing, a week before its September 10th release date.
