“Everything’s Different, Nothing’s Changed,” off  Armon Jay’s album of the same name, details the Nashville singer-songwriter’s personal struggle to find hope. “This song is a bit of a confession for me. It’s an invitation to see the vulnerable parts of my soul. My personal fears, struggles and doubts, and how I’ve learned to cope with them,” Jay said about the song.

After spending some time signed with Sony Music’s Provident Label Group as part of a Christian band, Jay used money he raised on Kickstarter to record this album in American Fork, Utah with producer and fellow singer-songwriter Noah Gunderson. Reflecting back on the process of writing the song, he said, “I remember obsessing over the lyrics when I wrote it. I ended up with 7 alternate verses. I felt lost within the song, like for some reason I couldn’t finish it. I realize now that I was writing the concluding thought of my story. It was the last song I wrote before left Nashville to record the album. Telling the truth will always set you free. It was a song I knew I had to write in order to move forward.”

Directed by Rhetorik, the video was kept simple, keeping Jay’s storytelling the main focus.  You can check out our exclusive premiere below, and you can catch Armon Jay on tour with Noah Gunderson throughout the US this spring.
