Check out the new video for “In Her Veins,” from Northern Ireland-born, Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter John Gribbin, who performs under the name Building Pictures. The song hails from his upcoming debut album, West Orchard.

“In Her Veins” was filmed entirely in Brooklyn and aptly features several landmarks in the New York City borough from which Gribbin draws inspiration.
Replete with views of the Manhattan skyline, shots on the Brooklyn Bridge, and candids in Coney Island, this video is Brooklyn through-and-through — perfectly fitting for the song whose chorus repeats, “She’s got Brooklyn in her veins.” Just like the tune, the video is honest and passionate.
“I feel that ‘In Her Veins’ helps to represent the two sides of Building Pictures,” Gribbin tells American Songwriter. “There will often be very delicate and intimate moments in our live sets, followed by moments where we tend to make quite a bit of noise. So for me, ‘In Her Veins’ was an easy choice for the first single as I feel that it in some way strikes a balance.
“The song itself is a true story about a girl I met on the subway. You know, one of those moments where you see someone crying and you feel that you have to ask if they are OK? Well this was one of those days. I don’t know if she really left Brooklyn for Florida, but I like to think that she changed her mind at the last minute.”
West Orchard will be released on November 12.
