Fun Fact: Acclaimed producer Jack Douglas (John Lennon, Aerosmith) introduced Harvell to Jim Greer, who went on to produce her last three albums, though he usually works with hip-hop artists. Also, her songs have been used on commercials for Burt’s Bees and the Oakland A’s.
Songwriter Says: “This is a song about that ‘light bulb’ moment,” Harvell says, “when you finally understand who you are, your core essence — all the messes and complications and imperfections included — and you realize that you are okay with it. You’re human and you’re not alone. It’s about the pure freedom in that realization.”
