Video Premiere: Justin Robinson, “Vultures”

Videos by American Songwriter

If you’re a fan of The Carolina Chocolate Drops (and who isn’t?), you’ll want to check out band member Justin Robinson’s diverse new solo album, Bones For Tinder.  Here’s a brand new video from the album for the song “Vultures,” which finds Robinson and backing band The Mary Annettes stepping into some big shoes. Justin channels Porter Wagoner, Kyra channels Dolly Parton, Sally is Loretta Lynn, and Josh does his best Conway Twitty.

“We really wanted to recreate an iconic piece of Americana and pay homage to some musicians we really love,” Robinson tells American Songwriter. “The result, however, was a bit creepier than Porter Wagoner’s show ever was.”
