The Whistles & The Bells, Bryan Simpson’s solo project, shared a new song “Harry Potter.” A retro pop tune with strong ’80s influences, the video for this track feels like something you would see a teenage Molly Ringwald starring in.

Sung from the perspective of a teenage girl, “Harry Potter” highlights what many young adults long for but unfortunately cannot find as they grow older: childhood innocence and simplicity.

“The first record was about spiritual transformation, and about me coming to a place of recognition of my own humanity and a better understanding of my place in the universe,” Simpson says.

Simpson is a singer-songwriter who has written for several country stars such as Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean and Blake Shelton.

His sophomore album Modern Plagues, which features “Harry Potter,” will be released April 28.
