Watch Alan Jackson Honor His Wife With a Slow Dance During His Last Texas Concert Ever

Since he first stepped foot on stage during the 1980s, Alan Jackson spent each passing decade leaving his mark on country music. Producing hit after hit, the singer/songwriter not only entered the halls of the Grand Ole Opry, but he went on to land spots in the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and even the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. An icon in country music, Jackson looked to end his career in the spotlight. And knowing that time was approaching, the country singer recently took a moment to honor his wife Denise Jackson with a special moment on stage.

Sharing a love for each other for over 45 years, Jackson took the stage for a festival at the Two Step Inn in Texas on April 5th. Marking one of his last concerts in 2025, fans filled the venue, hoping to see the country singer one last time. While entertaining fans throughout his set, when he performed “Remember When”, Jackson turned his attention to his wife.

Drawing inspiration from their love, Jackson wrote the song about their marriage. And when his guitarist stepped up for a solo, the country star turned to his wife. Although she needed some motivation, Denise finally stepped out and shared a slow dance with Jackson before he returned to center stage to finish the song.

Alan Jackson Ready To Spend Time With Family

Preparing for the final shows of his Last Call: One More for the Road Tour, Jackson announced his decision to spend more time with family. At 66 years old, he understood the importance of time and focusing on what matters. He posted a video on Twitter back in June 2024, announcing, “I’m getting into my twilight years, and all my daughters are grown, and I got one grandchild and one on the way. (I) enjoy spending more time at home, and don’t want to be away like I had to be in my younger days, and I don’t tour as much now as I did 10 years ago. I think it’s just getting time to start thinking about hanging it up full-time.”

While Jackson also battled with Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease, he explained how it made performing on stage uncomfortable. Wanting to leave on his own terms, the singer admitted, “I just want to think about maybe calling it quits before I’m unable to do the job like I want to.”
