In need of some super nostalgic songs from when you were a kid, particularly in 1973? There were quite a few solid releases that year, particularly in the realm of rock music. Let’s look at just a few classics, shall we?

“Time In A Bottle” by Jim Croce
Jim Croce was a big deal in the 1970s. I know he would have had a crazy-good career if he had just a little more time on this earth. He enjoyed a few hits in his career, but the 1973 hit “Time In A Bottle” is one of the most nostalgic songs on this list.
If you were a kid that year, you probably heard this song on the car radio at least once a day. If you really want to enjoy a throwback, I recommend listening to the whole of You Don’t Mess Around With Jim.
“Angie” by The Rolling Stones
Remember “Angie”? This is just one of many, many Rolling Stones tunes that would be nostalgic for anyone who was young in the 70s. “Angie” was released on the 1973 album Goats Head Soup and was a major chart-topper back in the day. It’s still loved today, too. Within just a few hours of listening to just about any classic rock radio station, you’ll definitely hear it come on.
Though, don’t expect to hear the full version. Through the years, many radio stations edit the song down to three minutes, leaving out the long coda as well as the second instrumental break in the song.
“Dream On” by Aerosmith
This is by far one of the most nostalgic songs to come out of the year 1973. “Dream On” is a hard rock delight from Aerosmith, and it might just be their most widely recognized song. This standout power ballad from the band’s self-titled album was written by Steven Tyler himself, and it’s widely considered to be the band’s very first major hit on the charts.
“It was just this little thing I was playing, and I never dreamed it would end up as a real song or anything,” Tyler said of the song. “It’s about dreaming until your dreams come true.”
He’s right about that. “Dream On” is quite an inspirational tune, and if you were a kid in 1973, it probably resonated with you.
