4 Killer Songs That Were Left Off of the ‘Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3+4’ Soundtrack

Those of us who grew up playing the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater franchise know that the games had killer soundtracks packed with punk, metal, and hip-hop. For many young gamers, it was easier to get the games than it was to collect the stack of CDs it would take to replicate the soundtracks. At the same time, the games introduced countless players to a laundry list of new artists, genres, and songs. As a result, many have a deep nostalgic connection to those soundtracks. So, when Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 dropped, longtime franchise fans found the soundtracks disappointing.

The remake features two classic Tony Hawk Pro Skater games, but doesn’t feature their original soundtracks. Instead, the remastered game includes only ten tracks from the two original soundtracks. While the games still pack hours of killer tunes to skate to, fans weren’t happy about the massive changes. Here are some of the best songs from the original games that don’t appear on the remastered version.

1. “Wish” by Alien Ant Farm

When fans saw the soundtrack for the latest installment of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series, they quickly noticed the omission of “Wish” by Alien Ant Farm.

Taken from Alien Ant Farm’s sophomore studio album, ANThology, “Wish” appeared on the soundtrack of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3. With its massive riffs, driving rhythm section, and lyrics about doing your own thing, it fit the game perfectly. At the same time, it was the perfect accompaniment to the frustration of trying and failing over and over to get the Sick Score.

2. “Blitzkrieg Bop” by The Ramones

Punk rock and skating go together like peanut butter and jelly. So, the addition of this classic Ramones song to the Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 soundtrack seems like a no-brainer. They didn’t just cut this killer tune from the new remastered game. The Ramones don’t appear in the game at all. It’s almost as bad as missing the Secret Tape for the third time in a row while the clock ticks down.

3. “Seneca Falls” by The Distillers

Taken from The Distillers’ 2002 album, Sing Sing Death House, “Seneca Falls” was a fan favorite from the Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4 soundtrack. Many longtime franchise fans were incredibly disappointed to learn that they wouldn’t hear it in the remastered game. Most would likely agree that they’d rather the team leave out the Kona map than cut this track from the game.

4. “Drunken Lullabies” by Flogging Molly

Taken from Flogging Molly’s 2001 sophomore album of the same name, “Drunken Lullabies” was a highlight of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4 soundtrack. This politically-charged Celtic punk jam perfectly captured the rebelliousness that goes along with smashing through windows, knocking over obstacles, and grinding everything in sight. Unfortunately, this glorious combination of Irish folk music and punk rock didn’t make the cut on the newly remastered release.
