Post Malone Reveals His Most-Played Artists of 2024, Proving His Love for Traditional Country Music

2024 was a huge year for Post Malone. He had one of the most talked-about country albums of the year with his genre debut F-1 Trillion. The album produced hit songs and allowed him to rub elbows with some of the biggest names in the business. However, as the year drew to a close, Posty stayed busy. He headlined the Faster Horses Festival on December 30 and performed at Robert’s Western World during New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash the following night.

While he spent most of the year making music and rocking stages, Malone still took plenty of time to listen to music. During his headlining set at Faster Horses, he revealed his most-played artists of 2024. Like most people, Posty got his year-end wrap-up from his streaming platform of choice. For him, it is Apple Music.

According to People, Malone’s top artists of 2024 were Zach Top and George Strait.

Post Malone’s Love for Traditional Country Music

While most of F-1 Trillion fits firmly in the category of pop country, Post Malone is a fan of more traditional-sounding country music. He proved that with the deluxe edition of his genre debut which featured what some listeners would call “real country music.”

That’s not the only proof that he’s a fan of traditional or neotraditional country music. Throughout the year, he performed covers of songs from some iconic artists during concerts. Malone also took the stage with Dwight Yoakam to perform some of the Bakersfield legend’s biggest hits. Additionally, Yoakam chose to feature Posty as the only guest artist on his most recent album.

Learning that his top artists of 2024 were Zach Top and George Strait is the icing on the cake. Strait is the King of Country Music. His sound is rooted in traditional country music, honky tonk, and Western swing. In short, Strait’s sound is uniquely Texan. Then, there’s Top who is one of the fastest-rising stars in modern country music. His debut album Cold Beer & Country Music sounds like it would have been a contender for Album of the Year in the mid-‘90s.

Time will tell if Posty follows his favorite artists in creating more traditional-leaning music in the coming months.
