Riley Green Singing to His Mama Alongside Jamey Johnson at Nashville Honky Tonk “Is Now My Roman Empire”

Forget about the mustache, the cowboy hat, and the daunting stature, because folks, Riley Green is just one big momma’s boy. In the summer of 2024, Green divulged this fact to the world when he played alongside Jamey Johnson at Nashville’s infamous honky tonk, Losers.

Prior to this duet, Riley Green had frequented the bar and its stage seemingly on the regular. In 2024, Green and Post Malone served patrons drinks on some arbitrary night. Green’s appearance at the bar is surprising, however, it is less surprising when you realize his concept bar, The Duck Blind, is right next door. Nevertheless, Riley Green made another guest appearance at the bar in 2024 when he took the stage with Jamey Johnson and Ella Langley.

Riley Green Loves His Momma

Langley and Green took to the stage to perform their hit country single, “You Look Like You Love Me.” However, believe it or not, that was not the highlight of this random summer evening. Following their performance, Jamey Johnson joined Green on stage to sing the Johnson tune, “High Cost of Living.”

Before the two broke out into song, Green stated to the audience, “Mama, we was about to quit, but then I told Jamey that you like this song, so he’s going to do it for you. This song is for my mama tonight, everybody. In case you’re sober enough to remember it.” Subsequently, Johnson played the opening lick and Riley Green simply stated, “Yep, that’s the one.”

Who knows what this specific song means to Green and his mother, but regardless of its sentimental relevance, it seems Green had a great time singing it. And given that Green had a great time singing it, the patrons in attendance had a great time watching him sing it. As one fan noted in response to the video, “Riley Green talking to his mama from the stage is now my Roman Empire.”

The summer of 2024 was jam-packed with phenomenal country music moments, and this is one of the less notable ones. However, hopefully, this article changes that and also reminds folks to think about their mothers a little more. After all, they are certainly thinking about you.
