Since breaking onto the country music scene with 1994’s Not A Moment Too Soon, Tim McGraw has gone on to sell more than 90 million records. While winning three Grammy Awards for his music, the “Live Like You Were Dying” hitmaker has also segued into acting. After appearing in projects like The Blind Side and Friday Night Lights, McGraw was set to star in his own Netflix series about a professional bull rider. Unfortunately, Deadline reports that health issues have sidelined that project for now.

Tim McGraw Is Having Back Surgery
Back in August, fans were disappointed to learn that Tim McGraw would not finish out his 2024 tour. The 14-time CMA Award winner needed orthopedic surgery on both knees after sustaining an injury on tour.

Now, a source tells Deadline that the “Don’t Take The Girl” crooner will undergo back surgery at some point. Due to the rigorous physical demands of his role as a professional bull rider, McGraw cannot continue with the still-untitled project. Executives will recast his role.
Brandon Camp, who wrote and created the series, is serving as co-showrunner alongside Justified’s Taylor Elmore.
Most recently, McGraw has appeared in Taylor Sheridan’s popular Yellowstone series and its spin-off 1883.
Country Star Will Headline Special ‘Field of Dreams’ Concert
Fans can now purchase tickets to see Tim McGraw head up an all-day concert at the “Field of Dreams” site in Dyersville, Iowa on Aug. 30.
This gig is particularly significant because it falls on the country star’s late father’s birthday. Frank Edwin “Tug” McGraw played 19 seasons as an MLB relief pitcher for both the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies. He died in 2004 at the age of 59.
Announcing the show on social media, Tim McGraw wrote, “I know my dad would have loved to see this one… Let’s make history together.”
