Every Young Adult Needs to Hear Luke Combs’ Inspirational Speech From His Brisbane Concert

Luke Combs started his career after dropping out of Appalachian State University. He taught himself to play guitar and began performing at a local bar where he once worked as a bouncer. In 2017, he released his debut album This One’s for You and it was a massive hit. That album helped him quickly climb the ranks of the country music world.

Now, less than a decade after releasing his debut album, Combs has several No. 1 singles and records under his belt. Additionally, he has toured the world multiple times. None of this would have happened if he had not chosen to follow his dream of being a country singer. During a recent Australian tour stop, Combs shared his story and some inspirational words with his young fans.

Luke Combs Delivers a Motivational Speech

Between songs, Luke Combs took a moment to address the crowd. He wanted to share his gratitude for their support and inspire them to follow their dreams. “I taught myself to play guitar when I was 21. I was in college and didn’t really know what the hell I was going to do with my life or what I wanted to do, to be honest,” he began.  “This is probably a bit of a tangent here but if you are 21, 19, 25, it don’t matter, man. You’ve got all the time in the world to figure out what the hell you want to do. Don’t let anybody tell you otherwise,” he told the younger members of his audience.

“I never in a million years imagined I would be standing up here, halfway across the world from where I grew up. I had never even been on an airplane until I was 25. Here I am for my fifth time in Brisbane, Australia,” he added, delivering an example of what happens when one commits to following their dreams.

“If you want to do something, if you’ve got a dream, chase it. Hell, even if you don’t have a dream, you might tomorrow, you might next year. When you find it, you should hold on to it and chase it because it can take you to places that you never thought you would ever be able to go. That’s where I am right now, thanks to you,” he concluded.
