Unfazed by the commercial failure of her self-titled debut album, Shania Twain released The Woman in Me in 1995. With hits like “Any Man of Mine” and “Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?” the record sold 4 million copies. Two years later, Come On Over ushered in an entirely new level of success for the Canadian singer-songwriter. Certified platinum 20 times over, Twain’s third album yielded three top 10 singles: “From This Moment On,” “You’re Still the One,” and “That Don’t Impress Me Much.” However, if the multi Grammy-winning artist had her way, we’d have never heard her version of one of these hits.

Shania Twain Always Meant for Celine Dion to Sing This Song
As Shania Twain was carving out her path in Nashville, Celine Dion was breaking into the English-language market. Let’s Talk About Love, released the same year Twain gave us Come On Over, became one of the best-selling albums in history.
During a recent interview with Us Weekly, Twain, 59, admitted that she penned one of her top 10 hits with her fellow Canadian superstar in mind.
“‘From This Moment On’ is the one I least expected to be so big and so timeless because I really didn’t want to record the song myself. I wrote it because I wanted Celine Dion to sing it,” Twain said.
Unfortunately for the “I’m Gonna Getcha Good” songstress, “[Dion] probably didn’t even know who I was.” At her producer’s urging, she recorded “From This Moment On” for Come On Over.
“I was really thinking about it being this pop power ballad, but it worked for me,” Twain told Us. “It’s really a big, big ballad for me.”
Did she ever tell Dion that she wrote the song for her? No, and, “I figure that’s too late now,” Twain joked. “It’s already my hit. She can’t have it now.”

“I Really Don’t Have Anything Left To Prove”
As she prepares to celebrate her 60th birthday this year, Shania Twain is still racking up career milestones. Recently wrapping up her Come On Over residency in Las Vegas, she resumes her Queen Of Me Tour this summer.
Amid all this success, slowing down the aging process is the furthest thing from Twain’s mind. “I really don’t have anything left to prove,” she told Us Weekly.
“I’d rather focus more on the things that I can change or contribute to — I can create magic through music, and I have a lot I want to achieve and have fun with, whether it’s music or film,” she continued. “I’d like to write and produce another artist’s album. There’s just so many things. I keep saying I’m going to have to live to be 120!’
