Stevie Nicks on Being a Gemini

Speaking with Rolling Stone in 2016, Stevie Nicks praised the duality of her astrological sign for the way she can move back and forth between Fleetwood Mac and her solo career.

“I feel really blessed to be the Gemini that I am and be able to hop back and forth between my solo career and Fleetwood Mac,” she said. “My solo career is truly the reason why Fleetwood Mac is still together because I get bored easily.”

At the time, she was embarking on her 24 Karat Gold Tour. There, she debuted some songs live for the first time and broke out the old favorites. She brought The Pretenders out as support, with songs like “Wild Heart”, “Starshine”, and “If You Were My Love” getting their live debuts.

On Her Relationship With Lindsay Buckingham Years Later

In 2015, Nicks commented on her notoriously volatile relationship with former bandmate Lindsay Buckingham. The two were on and off again throughout their early tenure with Fleetwood Mac, finally calling it quits in 1976. However, although they were finished romantically, they continued to collaborate musically until 1987, then again when the band reformed in 1997.

“Relations with Lindsey are exactly as they have been since we broke up,” Nicks said at the time. “He and I will always be antagonizing to each other, and we will always do things that will irritate each other, and we really know how to push each other’s buttons. We know exactly what to say when we really want to throw a dagger in. And I think that that’s not different now than it was when we were 20. And I don’t think it will be different when we’re 80.”

On Her Purpose in Life

In 1979, Stevie Nicks made a profound statement about destiny, fate, and her perceived purpose in life. These simple but impactful words laid out exactly what Nicks felt about her role in the world, and truly let everyone know that she was here to stay.

“I came here for a reason,” she said. “I didn’t come here to be a mother, I didn’t come here to be a nun. And I did not come here to be a cleaning lady. I came here to be a poet.”
