Radiohead is one of the most respected alternative and experimental rock bands of our era. From OK Computer to In Rainbows, Radiohead released some pretty poignant and intelligent works through the years. But not everybody was digging what they were dishing out. Let’s look at a few musicians who straight-up despise Radiohead, or at least disliked them back in the day.

Robert Plant
Robert Plant has never been one to pay attention to modern music. Honestly, it’s a little refreshing. He knows what he likes and has stuck to it. However, he has occasionally listened to newer bands in the 21st century, and he was allegedly not a fan of Radiohead.
In 2008, Plant allegedly made some comments about Radiohead, reported to The Sun via an unnamed source. Take this one with a grain of salt.
“Robert was drinking with a woman and didn’t like the choice of tunes playing,” the source told The Sun, who allegedly overheard Plant at a bar in Camden. “Radiohead was on, and he started complaining. He said, ‘What’s this rhyming crap?’”
Lemmy Kilmister
Motörhead’s most iconic member, the late Lemmy Kilmister, was pretty direct about his opinions in the rock music world. Unfortunately for some, he had no problem making it clear that he wasn’t a fan of a few of his contemporaries back in the day. In 2010, during an interview with Stay Thirsty Media, Lemmy said that rock and roll, at its core, is always exciting. Some bands, like Radiohead, were not exciting, according to Lemmy. He also threw a stray at Coldplay, too.
“[Rock is] exciting, you know,” he said. “And all the sh*t that these magazines like is not exciting. Like Jesus, Radiohead, you know. F*ck me, you know. Coldplay. Jesus. These are not rock bands. These are sub-emo, you know.”
Billy Corgan
Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins, like Lemmy, has never been too shy to comment on what his contemporaries are doing. He makes our list of musicians who despise Radiohead due to some comments he made about the band (namely, guitarist Jonny Greenwood) back in 2012.
“I’ll p*ss on fucking Radiohead, because of all this pomposity,” Corgan said during an interview with Antiquet. “This value system that says Jonny Greenwood is more valuable than Ritchie Blackmore. […] Is Ritchie Blackmore a better guitar player than me and Jonny Greenwood? Yes. Have we all made valuable contributions? Yes. I’m not attacking that, I’m attacking the pomposity that says this is more valuable than that. I’m sick of that.”
