While bands have a great deal to worry about on stage, that doesn’t mean they don’t see what goes on in the crowd. When breaking down a concert, they must remember the setlist, their cues, and their limits. Not to mention standing under dozens of lights. Still, with all the elements that go into a concert, most have a perfect vantage point of the crowd. And although singers use this advantage to speak with the fans, the Red Clay Strays recently paused their show after they noticed a man hitting a woman.

For those who attend a concert, they usually have an unforgettable time. Especially when the singer brought out a special guest or two. Yet, when the Red Clay Strays performed in Cleveland, they quickly noticed a serious situation happening just a few feet from them. Although not wanting to point it out, the band had to take action when a man decided to hit a woman. Pausing his performance, Brandon Coleman apologized to the crowd. “Well, sorry ladies and gentlemen. Yeah, they’re trying to kill each other down here.”
Shocked by the situation unfolding, he asked, “Did he hit a woman?” Knowing the man was surrounded by thousands of fans, Coleman gave him a chance to leave before the crowd turned on him. “You should probably just leave.” Taking his advice, the entire crowd booed the person as they made their way out.
The Red Clay Strays Love Being On The Road
With a video of the incident already making its rounds on social media, fans commented on the fight. “We were there right beside it happening! Some people down there were so rude. Disappointing for sure.”
While not a highlight of the Red Clay Strays, both Coleman and musician Drew Nix loved being on the road. Although some artists find the city after city routine grueling, Coleman insisted, “I love being out on the road, I do.” He was sure to add, “I miss being home a lot just because I’m not creative out on the road, ideas don’t come to us out on the road because there are just too many distractions and it’s just too much hard work, if you know what I mean…”
Although Coleman didn’t name the distractions, it’s safe to say that starting a fight at their concerts might be one.
