When wanting to celebrate Keith, Apple Music decided to offer its listeners covers of the singer’s hit songs. But that was just the start as Apple Music needed a few hitmakers. Organizers decided to call on Green, McBryde, Ella Langley, Parker McCollum, Tucker Wetmore, and Megan Moroney.

Titled Apple Music Nashville Sessions: Toby Keith Covered, the special list gained high praise from the singer’s longtime manager, TK Kimbrell. “Toby Keith loved music and especially singer-songwriters. He would be so proud of this group of monster talent that covered his songs.”

The List Of Toby Keith Songs Covered

As for which songs the stars covered, the list included:

“A Little Less Talk and a Lot More Action” – Ashley McBryde

“Who’s Your Daddy?” – Megan Moroney

“Who’s That Man” – Parker McCollum

“Should’ve Been A Cowboy” – Riley Green

“As Good As I Once Was” – Tucker Wetmore

“Wish I Didn’t Know Now” – Ella Langley

Thrilled to take part in the special tribute, Green loved the fact he got to cover “Should’ve Been a Cowboy.” Recalling his own past, the singer said the song appealed to him since he didn’t have that lifestyle. “I think because growing up in Alabama, we didn’t have a lot of cowboys. We didn’t have horses; we didn’t have big, long pastures like they got out in Texas and Oklahoma and all that. For me, that lifestyle of being out on the open range was so foreign to me, but also just seemed cool.”

As for McCollum, he considered “Who’s That Man” one of the top songs produced by Keith. “You never had to wonder whose song it was when you heard a Toby song, and this one’s at the top of my list in his catalog. It’s an honor to get to do it.”
