Over the weekend, Celine Dion made a rare public appearance during Coldplay’s recent show in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dion did not participate in the show, but the venue displayed her on the big screen while Chris Martin and the band performed. Dion attended Coldplay’s Allegiant Stadium show during their Music of the Spheres World Tour, which will conclude at Wembley Stadium in London on September 8, 2025.

Following the performance, Celine Dion took to Instagram to deliver a message to both Coldplay and her fans. She wrote in the post, “What an unforgettable evening with @Coldplay at @AllegiantStadium…My heart is still singing!” “A heartfelt thanks to the band and their amazing team for welcoming my family with warmth and kindness.” “It was all…fantastique,” concluded Dion.
Celine Dion’s public appearance comes as a rare event given that the singer has taken a major step away from the public eye after she announced her Stiff Person Syndrome diagnosis in 2022. Since the diagnosis, Dion’s most notable public appearance/performance was during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Behind Celine Dion’s SPS Diagnosis
In December of 2022, Celine Dion announced her Stiff Person Syndrome diagnosis via a video she shared on Instagram. In the video, Dion stated, “I’ve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time, and it’s been really difficult for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything that I’ve been going through.”
She continued, “Recently, I’ve been diagnosed with a very rare neurological condition called stiff person syndrome, which affects something like one in a million people,” Dion continued. Her diagnosis resulted in the cancellation of all of the remaining tour dates for her 2023-2024 European Courage World tour.
In short, SPS is an incredibly rare autoimmune neurological disorder that causes muscle stiffness and spasms. It most commonly affects people in their 40s and 50s, per Johns Hopkins. As of now, there is no cure.
