Country Singer John Berry Helps Support Law Enforcement With the Guitars 4 Cops Event

First stepping into the spotlight during the 1970s, John Berry showcased his love for country music as he recorded songs like “You and Only You”, “Standing on the Edge of Goodbye”, and “What’s In It for Me.” Over the last several decades, the country singer released over 20 studio albums. But outside of his time in the studio and on stage, Berry focused on giving back to the community. He has worked with The American Red Cross and even the American Legion. Always willing to help those in need, the country star recently helped The Wounded Blue by offering a signed guitar.

Founded by Randy Sutton, the Wounded Blue focused on giving back to law enforcement members who were injured. Speaking with Fox News, he said, “The wounded blue is the national assistance and support organization for injured and disabled law enforcement officers. It’s a nationwide charity that I founded about five years ago.”

Giving some details on how much the organization helped officers over the last few years, Sutton continued,  “During that time, we’ve helped more than 14,000 American law enforcement officers who have been injured or disabled. And when we talk about injuries – the injuries are physical but injuries are also emotional and psychological. And post traumatic stress can be as real as a bullet.”

As for the type of people supporting and helping the Wounded Blue, Sutton added, “So, my entire team is made up of officers who have been shot, or stabbed, or beaten, or run over, or faced serious psychological trauma and come out on the other side.”

When it came to Berry, he decided to help by offering a signed guitar for charity. By going to Guitars4Cops.com, fans can purchase a guitar from Berry. The site also offered guitars from stars like Dustin Lynch, Ernest, Geroge Strait, and even Hank Williams Jr.

Discussing his impact on the Wounded Blue, Berry insisted, “It means a lot to me because one of my dearest friends is a police officer in Texas. And my manager’s son is a police officer in North Atlanta. Doing something that could help them or help their partners is an important step to do. It really matters.”

Although Berry helped officers in need, he declared, “I’m thrilled that I was invited to be part of it. And thrilled we could make a contribution.”
