Online scammers are growing bolder, and country music fans seem to be a preferred target. Lukas Nelson recently shared a story of a fan showing up to one of his gigs after an online scammer convinced them they were in a relationship with the “Ain’t Done” singer. Now, Darius Rucker is raging against the people trying to make an easy buck off his fans online.

Next, the Hootie and the Blowfish reshared a post from someone asking if another account using his name belonged to him.
“No. Everyone this is my only account. Dont [sic] have a personal account or any body who works for me including my kids will not have an account that will ask u for money,” Rucker replied. “They are scammers.”
Rucker isn’t the first artist to grapple with this problem. A Nebraska man recently lost his entire life savings after an online scammer convinced him that he was communicating with Luke Bryan.
Darius Rucker Offers Tour Update Amid Recent Health Problems
Fans attending a Darius Rucker show at the Hard Rock Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey got an unwelcome surprise when the CMA Award-winning artist lost his voice mid-show.
“Y’all, I can’t sing anymore,” he told the July 12 crowd. “This never happened. I physically can’t sing. I promise you on everything that I stand for, I will make this up to you.”
Unable to reschedule the show, Rucker offered the crowd full refunds. Many were on edge wondering what this meant for the Grammy winner’s 45-date international tour. Fortunately, Rucker’s publicist recently shared some good news.
“”There is no further interruption in his touring schedule,” Ebie McFarland told USA TODAY on July 16. “Following vocal rest, Darius has been cleared to resume shows.”
