Fender wraps up 2020 with the release of the last guitar in their Parallel Universe Collection- the Tele® Mágico. Designed with Custom Shop Master Builder Ron Thorn, the Mágico has just the right amount of its own flavor to make you do a double stop and take another look. Suffice to say, Parallel Universe is an apropos moniker for this collection of guitars.
The finer details include a Thinline swamp ash body, a flame maple neck, custom-designed Fender gold foil pickups, medium jumbo frets and a color choice between Trans Daphne Blue or Trans Surf Green gloss finish. Pearloid is used for the binding, inlays, tuning pegs, custom pickup rings and the Cabronita pickguard.
According to Fender, the custom-designed Gold Foil pickups deliver crystalline highs, expressive mids and creamy lows. The “cut” 3-saddle Tele bridge delivers classic Tele tone and feel despite its stylishly sleek silhouette. And the comfortable custom neck profile, which transitions from a “V”- shape to a “C”-shape as you make your way up the fingerboard, is ideally suited to both rhythm and lead styles.
Originally launched in 2018, the limited-edition Parallel Universe Collection highlight unusual and unique body shapes, parts and elements.
