Luke Bryan is still under the weather. One week after he first canceled shows due to illness, Bryan took to social media to announce that he’s yet to heal and will be missing even more time on stage.

“I’m really sorry to say I won’t be able to play this weekend’s shows due to continued illness,” he wrote. “I’ve been hoping to rally, but my voice is just not there yet.”
The affected shows include Country Stampede in Kansas, NebraskaLand Days in Nebraska, and Country Jam in Colorado.
Those planning to attend those shows won’t walk away empty handed, as Eric Church is slated to perform in Bryan’s place.
“Huge thanks to my buddy @ericchurch for stepping in last minute — and of course, putting on a kick ass show like he always does,” Bryan wrote.
In a statement to Instagram, Church expressed excitement about his new gigs.
“Festivals are part of the fabric of what made us who we are,” he wrote. “Happy to fill in for Luke while he’s on the mend. Not a lot of time to plan or get the whole crew and band together, so I’m bringing Jo and we’re gonna do something unique and spontaneous.”
Bryan concluded his message by writing, “Sitting still is not what I do best so I can’t wait to be back soon.”
Luke Bryan’s Ongoing Illness
Bryan’s health woes began earlier this month when he struggled through a performance in Arkansas.
“This is the weirdest thing I’ve ever dealt with in my life. I cannot have my voice in this venue for some reason. It happens every time, I don’t know why,” he said during the concert. “But… you guys keep showing up year after year to see me put on a show.”
Bryan wasn’t happy with his vocal abilities during the show, but he decided to power through the whole and refund the entire audience too.
He couldn’t keep on going in that direction, though. Ultimately Bryan decided to reschedule his Lafayette, Louisiana and Dallas, Texas, tour stops to Sept. 11 and 12, respectively.
“Please hold on to your tickets—they will be honored for the new dates,” Bryan wrote on Facebook at the time. “Thank you for your understanding.”
