Influencer Scammed Out of $5,000 Trying to Purchase Tickets to Morgan Wallen’s Sand in My Boots Festival

Although dealing with some legal issues, Morgan Wallen continues to focus on his career in country music. Back in 2023, he released the hit album One thing at a Time. Besides gaining praise from fans, the country star also kicked off his One Night at a Time World Tour, which featured acts like Hardy, Ernest, and even Bailey Zimmerman. With countless fans trying to see Wallen in concert, it appears that influencer Macy Blackwell was tricked out of thousands when trying to snag tickets to the Sand In My Boots Festival.

While embarrassed about the ordeal, Blackwell shared her experience on social media in hopes of helping others stay safe when wanting to purchase tickets. She started the video, admitting, “Let me start by saying that none of this would’ve happened if I wasn’t dumb. Honestly, it’s my fault for being stupid and naive and falling for the scam.”

Recalling how the entire incident happened, Blackwell noted how she jumped on Facebook looking to get tickets to see Wallen. Joining a resell group, she said, “There’s tons of posts, like a post at least every 30 minutes of people buying and selling tickets, right? While the admin had a post pinned to the top of the whole 12,000 person group saying what kind of tickets they had left. And saying that they had already pre-checked and looked up the people who said they had tickets to sell and they had already been pre verified tickets.”

Macy Blackwell Learned Her Lesson When Trying To Buy Morgan Wallen Tickets

Messaging the admin of the group, Blackwell felt like she had found the right place. Getting in touch with the person, the influencer ended up paying $2500 per ticket. With her total coming up to $5000, it seemed like she got a deal given the tickets were $99 less than the general asking price. But as Blackwell later admitted – that was a red flag.

With hours passing and no tickets, Blackwell started to worry and looked back over her purchase. But eventually, tickets appeared in her inbox. Somewhat relieved, the situation took a wrong turn when she noticed typos and wrong information in the email. And to make it worse, the person asked her for an additional $500 for “Fees.”

Urging people to stay vigilant when purchasing tickets, Blackwell, who hoped to see Wallen one day, said, “So that’s what happened. I literally went to bed feeling so sick, but life lesson learned, I’m never going to try to buy anything on Facebook again.”
