Brad Paisley‘s new single is called “Truck Still Works,” it’s an inciteful interpolation of his hit “Mud on the Tires.” Paisley jokes it may also be a metaphor for his body on tour.
“You can look forward to me attempting to remember how to do this,” Paisley jokes of touring.
The country singer/guitar slinger will launch his Truck Still Works World Tour in May.
“Touring is in my feeble, rickety bones,” he quips. Then explains: “It’s going to be fun to really harness the idea of giving people an escape right now. This is the chance to sing music in some beautiful places like Red Rocks (near Denver, Colorado) and the Greek Theatre (in Los Angeles). That will be fun.”
Paisley promises there are many new things he will try out on this tour – including playing and hopefully songwriting with his direct tour support artist, Walker Hayes. Paisley doesn’t know him well, but he thinks Hayes is “a great guy” and likens his writing to a modern Norman Rockwell painting.
“There’s something about it,” Paisley says of Hayes’ wholesome yet inventive storytelling. “It’s his thing, and I think it is gonna lend itself so well to what we do.”
Paisley and Hayes are family-minded men with a love for lyrics and a well-documented sense of humor.

Brad Paisley on Walker Hayes: “He’s a Great Hang”
“He’s a great hang, and I think we’re going to have a blast,” Paisley says of Hayes. “It feels like I’m in the Blues Brothers, and we’re driving around Chicago, putting the band back together. I love it.”
In addition to Hayes, other artists playing on select dates on Brad Paisley’s tour include Avery Anna, Mae Estes, Dylan Scott, and Alexandra Kay.
While Paisley never stopped playing shows, it’s been a couple of years since he put a run together and called it a tour. He played the Houston Rodeo and a host of fairs and festivals. If he took a break, someone forgot to tell him about it. However, a bonafide tour is still a different adventure.
“It’s fun to name it something, and again, it’s apropos that my song is ‘Truck Still Works,’ which we’re gonna find out,” Paisley said. “Then you have semis. We have to figure out if the oil’s been changed.”
But before Paisley launches his music tour, he’ll step into a different kind of spotlight. Paisley will host “Groceries with Dignity & Comedy Without” on Sunday, April 13, at Zanies in Nashville. The evening will feature comedians Kevin Nealon, Henry Cho, and Aaron Webber and benefit the Paisley family’s free, referral-based grocery store that serves Nashville families with food insecurity. The event coincides with the Nashville Comedy Festival taking place April 3-13, nashcomedyfest.com.
The 2023 and 2024 shows raised $325,000 for The Store. Paisley performed and emceed each of the evenings.
“Comedy is My Favorite Way to Raise Money”
“It’s such an amazing event in terms of the fact that comedy for charity is my favorite way to raise money for anything,” Brad Paisley said. “Most charity events are too long. Most of them are asking a lot of the people that attend. You’re asking for money. You’re asking for time. You usually feed them a badly catered meal. There’s an auction that takes too long. None of that is a part of this. This is literally what we call it: groceries with dignity, comedy without.”
The Paisley’s announced their first location in 2018 and it opened in 2020. Last fall, they revealed plans for their second Store. The new location will be on the campus of TriStar Centennial Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, in Nashville.
