Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton have had a long-time relationship filled with humorous antics. That being so, both musicians take every chance to take playful shots at one another. Of course, everything stated is always good fun, giving the masses a good laugh and a sneak peek into their relationship.

With all that in mind, Blake Shelton always gets a few jabs in here and there when he can, and he did so when speaking with American Songwriter about his impending hosting appearance at the Grand Ole Opry’s 100th-anniversary celebration, Opry 100: A Live Celebration.
Why Blake Shelton Decided to Host Opry 100: A Live Celebration
In an exclusive interview with American Songwriter, Blake Shelton spoke about his participation in the Grand Ole Opry’s 100th anniversary celebration. Aside from the honor the selection entailed, Shelton also decided to take the chance to make a little joke about his buddy Luke Bryan, and why he wasn’t selected.
He cleverly told American Songwriter, “Well to me, it meant I’m probably the best reader in country music. You know, because think of some of these guys, like Luke Bryan” and “You know, It just comes down to literacy, I think, and a teleprompter.”
On a more serious note, Shelton added, “I was honored to get the opportunity, to be honest with you because that’s going to be a huge huge night.” “I mean a hundred years of the Grand Old Opry, duh, of course, I’m going to jump at hosting that.”
As stated previously, this harmless and humorous feud between Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton is nothing new. On a recent occasion, Shelton poked fun at Bryan by sarcastically divulging that he was on steroids and that’s why he couldn’t beat him in an arm wrestling match. Concerning the comment, Luke Bryan replied, “Do I look ‘roided? Is there ‘roids in donuts” and “Anything he can do, I can do better, I can do anything better than Blake,” via Taste of Country Nights.
Nothing about this “feud” is real. Rather, it’s just two buddies being buddies, surely it’s something you’ve done with some old friends of yours. Regardless, if you want to see Blake Shelton possibly make another joke about his good buddy Luke Bryan on air in front of millions of eyes, then tune into the Opry 100: A Live Celebration tonight at 7 p.m. CST.
