Walking the red carpet at the 2025 ACM Awards, Jelly Roll looked to expand his list of accolades with nominations for Entertainer of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, and Album of the Year for Beautifully Broken. While thrilled over the nominations, the country singer also prepared to take the stage for a special performance alongside Shaboozey. Jelly Roll One Step Closer To Erasing His Past
Having already won several awards, Jelly Roll looked to add a different accolade to his shelf when the Tennessee Board of Parole voted for the singer to be pardoned for his previous crimes. Looking to rewrite the past, the country singer’s criminal record moved to the desk of Governor Bill Lee, who can decide to pardon Jelly Roll or deny the request.
No matter the outcome with his pardon, Jelly Roll was simply excited to be given the chance from the Tennessee Board of Parole. “This was incredible. I pray this goes through. But today was special for me, regardless.”
While Jelly Roll enjoyed the fame and his stardom in country music, he insisted that he always wanted to be a inspiration to others. “I want to be an inspiration for people who are now where I used to be — to let them know that change is truly possible. One of the reasons I’m asking for your recommendation for this pardon is because I’m looking to take my message of redemption through the power of music and faith through the rest of the world.”
