More About KISS’ Asylum Album
Released in September 1985, Asylum was KISS’ 13th studio album. The album peaked at No. 20 on the Billboard 200. “Tears Are Falling” was a melodic rock anthem that was released as the only single from Asylum. It reached No. 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 20 Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart.
A music video for “Tears Are Falling” received significant airplay on MTV, which helped boost the single’s popularity.
The album’s cover featured images of the band’s four members without face makeup, although each featured different colored lipstick.
For the tour in support of Asylum, the band showcased the largest lighted KISS sign they’d ever brought onstage.
Asylum went on to be certified gold by the RIAA for sales of more than 500,000 copies in the U.S.
