June of 2025 has been a historic month for Luke Combs. First and foremost, Combs made Bonaroo music festival history by being the first ever country artist to headline the Manchester, Tennessee festival. In addition to that accomplishment, Luke Combs also recently became the second-best-selling country artist of all time thanks to his decorated catalog of songs spanning between now and 2017.

Combs, who holds 19 No. 1 hits and two CMA Awards, now has a total sales record of 155.5 million units. Combs has garnered 4 new RIAA certifications, including a Diamond certification for his single, “She Got the Best of Me”. Furthermore, Combs also has Platinum certifications for “Beautiful Crazy”(14x), “Beer Never Broke My Heart”(8x), and “When It Rains It Pours”(12x).
In response to the two major accomplishments, Combs took to Instagram and wrote, “Honored to have gotten the opportunity to headline Bonnaroo last night, and I’ll never forget it.” “Thank y’all for having us. Hope everyone had as much fun as I did. Also can’t believe a song I wrote while I was still in college before moving to Nashville is now Diamond. Y’all are something else. Thank you!!”

In country music, Combs is seven million units away from becoming the best-selling country music artist of all time. As of now, the best-selling country music artist of all time is Garth Brooks with 162.5 million units sold.
Other contemporary artists who have sold more than 150 million RIAA-certified units include Drake, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Eminem. Given those names, Combs is seemingly not just on the cusp of making country music history, but also music history as a whole.
Luke Combs’ astounding success comes after his breakthrough 2017 single, “Hurricane”. Which, upon its release, peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Country airplay chart, No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100, and helped his debut album, This One’s for You, peak at No. 4 on the Billboard 200.
Despite this success, Luke Combs is not stopping with his work. Matter of fact, the musician recently teased his sixth album by writing, “I’ve been spending the last couple of weeks working on what my next record looks like and as it begins to take shape I can honestly say I’ve never felt better about one at this stage. It’s early on but I really do think it could wind up being the best record I’ve ever made,” via X.
