Although he has plenty hits of his own after a decade in country music, Luke Combs knows his way around someone else’s song. Last year, he turned Tracy Chapman’s 1988 classic “Fast Car” into a country track while remaining true to her message. Taking to social media Tuesday (June 3), the two-time Entertainer of the Year shared a cover of Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control.”

Sporting a ball cap and a gray shirt, Combs strums along on his guitar as he sings in his powerful baritone, I lose control / When you’re not next to me / I’m fallin’ apart right in front of you, can’t you see? / I lose control.
Teddy Swims And More React to Luke Combs’ Cover of His 2023 Hit
Although only sharing a brief snippet of his Teddy Swims cover, Luke Combs predictably now has fans clamoring for a full-length version. “Petition for an album of covers while we wait for his next album,” one Instagram user wrote.
Swims himself dropped by the comments to give Combs his stamp of approval. “Ayyyyyy,” wrote the Grammy winner, 32, followed by, “Go !!!” The Georgia native’s enthusiasm prompted several fans to call for a duet. ” I feel a collab comin on,” one user wrote.
Swims wasn’t the only artist to weigh in on Combs’ cover. “Let ’em know bro,” wrote country artist Kane Brown. Dan Smyers, of country-pop duo Dan + Shay, added, “Mans is singin,” while rock band Shinedown’s official account simply demanded, “MORE!!!!!!!!!”

New Music When?
Following last year’s heartfelt Fathers & Sons, Luke Combs revealed on social media last month that he is taking a step back from touring this year, sticking to festivals in the U.S.
“I just want to be home as much as I can where I can see my boys grow up and them know how important they are to me,” wrote the “Beautiful Crazy” singer, 35.
At the same time, however, Combs has also spoken about his return to the studio, where he is beginning work on his sixth studio album.
“I want to get back to some fun stuff. It’s not going to be nothing weird,” the country star told People in May. “We’re not doing no jazz album. We’re just doing a kick-ass country record.”
