“Angels In The Snow”
Jeff Moxcey
Waterville, Maine

After every snowfall
In her dark blue winter coat
Our blond haired little girl
Would go outside in the snow
We’d watch her from our window
As she played out in the yard
Then she’d lay down on her back
And slowly wave her arms

And she made angels in the snow
She wanted us to share her love of
Angels in the snow
Daddy watch me fly can I stay outside
I’m not even cold
There’s angels in the snow

Last week we had our first storm
But this year things have changed
We haven’t touched her room
Since she flew away
We know she’s now God’s angel
But I wonder if he knows
How can we get through winter
Without angels in the snow

She use to make angels in the snow
She wanted us to share her love of
Angels in the snow
She’d say watch me fly can I stay outside
I’m not even cold
There’s angels in the snow

It snowed again this morning
And it’s hard to get out of our bed
We know what we’ll be missing
Against the house there’s an empty sled
Then I look outside
Honey look over there
There’s angels in the snow
But not a footprint anywhere

Angels in the snow
She wanted us to share her love of
Angels in the snow
Daddy please don’t cry I can really fly
And I’m not here alone
There’s angels in the snow
There are angels in the snow
