As the country singer performed at the Iowa State Fair, a couple in the crowd got engaged. It was a sweet moment, though it did raise some eyebrows since it occurred as Moroney was singing “Fix You Too,” her 2023 breakup duet with Kameron Marlowe.

On TikTok, one fan posted a video of Moroney and Marlowe singing the track. At one point during the performance, excited cheers rang out in the crowd, which likely confused the artists given the song’s content.

“What just happened?” she mouthed to crowd in confusion. When Moroney got her answer, he jaw dropped and she smiled from the stage.

Madison Stoaks, the girl who got engaged during the song, shared video of the sweet moment on TikTok. In the clip, Stoaks’ now fiancé got down on one knee during the song, while she was facing the stage.

Hearing cheers from those around her, Stoaks turned around and saw her man kneeling and presenting her with a ring.

She initially jumped back in shock, putting her hand over her mouth, before quickly approaching her boyfriend and accepting his proposal. The pair proceeded to kiss as the song continued.

“Love Megan, love Kameron, love my new FIANCÉ,” Stoaks wrote alongside the clip, which she captioned, “Made fun of him for proposing during a breakup song but I was so excited to hear them together.”

As for why her beau opted to propose during that song specifically, Stoaks explained in the comments, “Apparently he didn’t know it was a breakup song, just that it was the one I was most excited for.”
