Morgan Wallen Didn’t Know if He Was Ever Coming Back to Arizona After Night 1 ‘I’m the Problem’ Stop

Releasing his fourth studio album, I’m the Problem, in May 2025, Morgan Wallen has already sent four more songs to the top of Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. Blending country, pop, and hip-hop in his music, the East Tennessee-born artist has no doubt left his mark on Nashville. After breaking multiple records with his One Night at a Time Tour, Wallen, 32, appears poised to do the same with I’m the Problem. However, the reigning Entertainer of the Year was apparently not too pleased with the reception at his first stop in Glendale, Arizona.

“I didn’t know if I was ever going to come back to Arizona after that crowd last night,” Wallen said during Saturday’s (July 18) show at State Farm Stadium.

“But I think tonight, you guys might change my mind,” he added over the audience’s cheers.

Fans Speak of Fights, Projectiles at Morgan Wallen Show

Morgan Wallen’s latest studio album sees him embracing his often-polarizing public image. And apparently, the Night 1 crowd in Glendale, Arizona, may have also leaned into that rowdiness a little too hard.

“The security in my section tonight said it was SO BAD night one in our section,” one TikTok user wrote. “Multiple fights and people throwing up.”

Several fan-shot videos on social media seemed to confirm this account. The clips show audience members fighting and tossing objects toward the stage. Other attendees said that the “Cowgirls” hitmaker skipped his usual post-show autograph signing session due to the crowd’s behavior.

“Y’all were literally throwing so much stuff onstage,” a TikTok user named Jessica said in a video. “Crew members from backstage were coming out to grab stuff off the stage.”

Unruly behavior isn’t uncommon at Morgan Wallen shows, and it often happens with the “Whiskey Glasses” singer’s blessing. However, it seems the fans went too far this time.

Perhaps that’s why Wallen took a moment during his Saturday show to reflect on the early days of his career, when “we’d play pretty much anywhere they’d let us in the door.”

“And one of the things that I miss a little bit about those smaller shows is I could go out on stage and I could look at everybody in the eyes pretty much and just have that connection,” he said. “These days, it’s a little bit more difficult to accomplish that, but this is my effort to kind of bridge that gap a little bit.”
