While many know Sabrina Carpenter got her start thanks to the Disney show Girl Meets World, the singer explored a career in music before landing the show. Even at an early age, Carpenter knew she wanted to be a singer and used YouTube to post videos of herself singing hit songs from Adele and Christina Aguilera. But now, aspiring artists performed her songs as she released hits like “Feather” and “Please, Please, Please.” Already releasing “Please, Please, Please” on the album Short n’ Sweet, Carpenter decided to join forces with country icon Dolly Parton to offer a new take on the hit song.

With February 14 being Valentine’s Day, Carpenter believed it was the perfect time to release the deluxe edition of her album Short n’ Sweet. Besides making the perfect gift for Carpenter fans, the singer offered a special duet with Dolly. Sharing a snippet of the song on social media, Carpenter was still coming to terms with working with such a legend. She wrote, “Dolly and me singing in a pickup truck!!!!!! I am so honored to have one of my biggest idols on a song that means so much to me.”

Gaining over two million views, fans noticed the vintage music video featured more than just Carpenter and Dolly. When watching the video, the singers hit the road while covering the song. But as time passed, Dolly ended up handing Carpenter a shovel as a man was in the back of the truck with a sack over his head. Looking back at the original video of the song, the person in the back of the truck was wearing the same outfit as Carpenter’s ex-boyfriend Barry Keoghan.
