Earlier this year, Sammy Hagar played a nine-night residency at the Park MGM Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. At the time, he said he wasn’t sure if he wanted to continue touring after roughly five decades on the road. The residency gave him an opportunity to entertain his fans without the hassle that comes with travel. Now, the Red Rocker is eyeing another stint in Las Vegas.

Sammy Hagar Plotting a Return to Las Vegas
“We’re talking about making the deal for next year,” Sammy Hagar said of a possible future Las Vegas residency. In a “true confession,” to the 98 Rock DJs, he said he would much rather play residencies than go on another tour. “I can’t stand packing my suitcase and moving and moving and moving. And bad hotel rooms, bad food, and not being able to do the show as good as I wanna do it every night,” he revealed.
Hagar went on to say that he feels he puts on better shows in a residency setting. “And boy, the residency, man, you can’t beat it for doing great shows and being able to–we changed the set every single night,” he said. “Nine shows and we didn’t do the same show twice. A lot of the songs got played more than once, but we changed at least for or five songs every single night. Oh, it was fantastic,” he added.
Earlier this year, Hagar said he no longer wanted to tour. “I’ll go out and do a one-off show and do things like that, but the residency is going to give me a good extension of my career. That’s what I’m hoping for,” he explained. “With this, I don’t have to travel. I don’t have to unpack and pack and get on an airplane every day. You know, at my age, it hurts my shoulders to do all this, and I have to perform,” he added.
